Mother Advises Daughter To Overlook Vet Clinic With Discourteous Nurse While Reddit Encourages Her To Speak Out

Most pets are afraid of visiting vet clinics, just as humans do not want to enter hospitals. Therefore, to give pets comfort during the check-up, their owners should find a reliable animal hospital with friendly and warm-hearted staff.

Recently, a Reddit account named u/aita_banfield posted on the subreddit AmItheAsshole her terrible experience with the Banfield Pet Hospital. The woman booked an appointment for her cat’s regular check-up every six months. She intentionally asked for an immediate evaluation since her cat suffered from anxiety disorders, and the clinic agreed. Nonetheless, when she arrived, she saw a nurse come out and tell another nurse that everyone was leaving for lunch. The poster was concerned for her cat, so she wanted to reschedule the appointment.

In response to the Redditor’s polite question, the nurse got spitful and claimed that their dialog was irrelevant to her and that her cat would be alright.

Then, the nurse stared rudely at the cat owner before heading back into the doctor’s office. At this moment, the poster caught her trash talk with others in there when the door had not closed completely. She was seen as a “crazy lady” just because she was worried about her precious cat and asked for another appointment.

Irritated by the nurse’s disrespectful attitude, the woman determined that she would keep her cat’s insurance plan there only if that discourteous nurse were not in the room. She did not believe a person who lacked respect for others could treat animals kindly.

The poster decided to make a complaint, but the receptionist did not give her the manager’s number. The cat’s crying in the carrier forced the owner to concede if she was allowed to come into the office with her cat. Unluckily, the nurse admitted that all staff was at lunch, so she had to wait at least an hour.

Did not want to make a fuss about this, the Redditor booked another appointment and left. When she called her mom, the mother advised her not to return to that clinic or give negative feedback.
Although the internet concurred with the mother in finding another pet hospital, they insisted that the poster was in the right, and reviews and complaints were necessary to save other pets from suffering. Besides, the clinic’s manager should be informed of the nurse’s poor manner towards customers to offer a real solution to the problem.

Many stated that the clinic was unprofessional when staff was on lunch at the scheduled time with customers. The nurse’s attitude was criticized heavily by Redditors. They asserted that the office would probably lose more clients if she still worked there.

Some even shared their knowledge and experience with the same vet clinic. They commented that the service there was appalling, so the poster should find another office. Reddit also recommended her some helpful searching methods and tips to alleviate her cat’s anxiety.

After consulting other Redditors, the poster made up her mind to fire the vet clinic and give a detailed review of her experience to the corporate.
