9 Celebs With Insanely Dark Family Backgrounds

Secrets may be a sensitive matter. Others are open or more eager to disclose their personal information as they age. At the same time, some people keep their private information secret and never expose it to anybody. One cannot be faulted for trying to hide these secrets from the public light, given that the discoveries are occasionally humiliating or reputation-damaging. Unfortunately for them, celebrities seldom have the luxury of choosing whether to reveal these personal details.
Secrets involving family members would be a separate category of secrets. These are nonetheless details that someone would be less than eager to disclose for several reasons, even if sometimes they don't even include the celebrity. There will be some secrets on this list that bring back unpleasant memories that no one wants to relive constantly. Others, on the other hand, don't seem as ominous as they do odd. Not to let you wait anymore, below is the list of the nine celebs with insanely dark family backgrounds.

1. Woody Harrelson

Charles Harrelson was not just a hitman; he was so skilled at it that he earned $250,000 for killing a judge who was scheduled to preside over a drug lord's trial. He received two life terms for it (to make sure he was never let out on the streets again), and up until his passing in 2007, his appeals were partially funded by his son's movie profits, which was a further disappointment for everyone who paid to see EDtv.

2. Joaquin Phoenix

While Phoenix's parents joined the Children of God in 1970, he was born into a cult. Yes, the sex cult that supports pedophilia and incest. Fair enough, no one promotes themselves as a sex cult, so the Phoenixes left as soon as they sensed something wasn't right with their new buddies.

3. Jonathan and Christopher Nolan

There is another Nolan brother who, in my opinion, is far more fascinating. In 2010, Matthew Nolan was charged with murdering a banker while torturing him for money on behalf of a drug dealer in Costa Rica. As a result, he devised a complex but unsuccessful plot to escape from prison.
Nolan is still at large since the U.S. ultimately determined that there was "insufficient evidence" to extradite him to Costa Rica to answer for his crimes. Just something to contemplate the next time you want to criticize a Nolan film.

4. Mariah Carey

In her autobiography, The Meaning of Mariah Carey, she claimed that her sister once drugged and burned her with boiling tea while she was 12 years old and that her brother was an abusive drug dealer.
Her sister also alleges that their mother forced her to participate in satanic rituals. Thus, she may not be the most trustworthy source. Her siblings have sued her over the book. She has a history of using angles; she was previously detained for soliciting sex in an advertisement that promised a "honey, sweet fantasy."

5. Jackie Chan

Chan's mother tried selling her two children after losing her husband in World War II but ultimately decided to dump them. She subsequently turned into an opium trafficker and a notorious gambler and wed the officer who had jailed her. Before Chan was born, they changed their names and relocated to Hong Kong; as a result, he was unaware of any of this until a 2003 documentary revealed the reality.

6. Rihanna

We can't even fathom the thought of one day discovering that our father was leading a double life, but for R&B singer Rihanna, this upsetting scenario is a reality. Rihanna has acknowledged that Ronald, her father, is a complete womanizer. We also believe it after learning about his hidden second family in Rihanna's native Barbados.
Rihanna discovered that her father had a brother and two sisters, each with a different mother. Even though Rihanna didn't get to meet her elder half-sister until fifteen, they got along well. According to reports, Rihanna's father struggled with drug and alcohol addiction, demonstrating that having sex with several women wasn't his only destructive vice.

7. Sofia Vergara

It's challenging to imagine Sofia Vergara's real family had a troubled background because we're all used to seeing her on ABC's Modern Family as the feisty, witty Gloria Pritchett. Sofia's brother was allegedly slain while she was a little child and still residing with her family in Columbia.
In the late 1990s, Sofia and several of her family members emigrated to the United States to flee the dangerous atmosphere. They could not avoid the family strife even after relocating to the United States. One actress's brothers who went away with her ended up mixing with the wrong crowds, built a record, and were deported back to Columbia.

8. 50 Cent

Rapper 50 Cent, real name Curtis Jackson, undoubtedly embodied the gangster lifestyle; nothing about it was artificial. In Queens, New York, 50 Cent was raised in a neighborhood infamous for its violent gang activity. Unfortunately, the rapper's mother, who was just 15 years old when she gave birth, was forced to turn to street drug peddling to provide for her family.
Sabrina, 50 Cent's mother, rose to prominence as a prominent local drug dealer during the ensuing few years. Unknown information surrounds the tragic murder of 50 when she was just eight years old. Additionally, 50 Cent started selling narcotics and became prominent in that community. Not until he received his

9. Tobey Maguire

Tobey Maguire, the star of Spider-Man, has been keeping a secret: his father was convicted of robbing a bank. The actor is claimed to have pardoned his 46-year-old father, Vincent. The latter was sentenced to two years in prison in 1993 after robbing a bank in Reseda, California, for an hour before being apprehended.
