27 Ridiculous, Extremely Odd Comics About Popular Characters That May Ruin Your Childhood

Childhood is one piece of our memories. While some people’s childhood belongs to the playgrounds with colorful slides, swings, or sandboxes, that of others adheres to their favorite old comics and cartoon cassettes from the shops close to their homes. Luckily, these memorable things are not entirely abandoned but have gradually been brought back to life in various ways. In fact, many comic artists have responded to the trend by creating lively drawings to revive lots of legendary cartoon characters. As for today’s guest, we’d love to introduce you Alex Solis, the talented cartoonist that has possessed thousands of incredible artistic works of a lifetime!
Alex Solis, as a kid, used to migrate from Mexico to the U.S. with his parents. Drawing and dancing were his best comfort zones as adapting to a new culture and society was pretty overwhelming at that time. He soon figured out the stereotype of starving artists that might have a negative impact on himself afterward. This was a good excuse for his decision to study Design and Web Development when he grew up. All the codes and designs involved really taught him clever ways to add stunning visuals and good concepts to his works.
In 2006, Alex Solis started creating Pop Culture illustrations and still loves doing so as if it was his very first time. He believes the Pop Culture of varied movies, songs, and characters is the best influence on his twisted brainchild, “Unpopular Culture”. The series not only reflects humans’ ridiculous society but also entertains anyone having their eyes glued to his drawings. If you pay enough attention to each strip, you’ll recognize the factors of dark humor and unexpected twists in his works without being confused!
Alex Solis now resides in Wisconsin where he works on his own brand, Oddworx, with a lifelong passion for arts. He never gets bored of dedicating his time and effort to creating illustrations of all kinds, from kid’ shows to politics. His works are specially mixed among three concepts of 90s cartoons, graffiti, and lowbrow art. He pointed out that coming up with completely fresh ideas and characters is the biggest obstacle to his entire comic-making process. “I hope to help people see things from a new perspective, or at the very least, enjoy nostalgic feelings.”
Don’t you think Alex Solis is such an admirable gifted artist who never stops producing odd yet fascinating masterpieces? Here we’ve prepared a small list of his most popular drawings so as to verify all the statements above.
