7 Celebrities Who Have Been Married Four Times Or More

Have you ever wondered which famous people have been married the most? Elizabeth Taylor, most likely, is one of the first names that come to your mind. She was married eight times to seven different husbands, including twice to her co-star, Richard Burton. Taylor may be the most famous name that has been related to a multitude of marriages. Surprisingly, she is far from the only celebrity who has walked down the aisle many times (more than three).

Because celebrities keep a high profile, everyone is curious about every aspect of their romantic relationships. Unfortunately, divorce rates among celebrity marriages are high. And it’s no secret that famous people marry and divorce pretty frequently. Although some celebrities may have had bad luck with love, that doesn’t mean they have given up on finding love. In their pursuit of true love, several celebrities have tied the knot three or more times.

Here are seven entertainers who have had multiple marriages, including some you might not expect!

#1 Zsa Zsa Gabor – 9 marriages

Zsa Zsa Gabor was a Hungarian-American actress and socialite (born February 6, 1917—died December 18, 2016). She was married nine times in total.

Her first marriage, which lasted six years from 1935 to 1941, was to Turkish politician Burhan Asaf Belge. She wed businessman Conrad Hilton, the creator of Hilton Hotels, in 1942 before divorcing him in 1947.

From 1949 to 1954, she married actor George Sanders, and in 1962, she married investment banker Herbert Hutner. She divorced him in 1967 and then married oilman Joshua S. Cosden Jr. the following year.

She wed Barbie doll inventor Jack Ryan in 1975 before divorcing him in 1976. She married Michael O’Hara in the same year, and they later divorced in 1983. Then, from April 13 to April 14, 1983, she was briefly married to attorney Felipe de Alba. This union lasted just two days. Because her prior divorce was not yet completed, the marriage was considered illegal.

Frederic Prinz von Anhalt was her ninth and last husband.

#2 Joan Collins – 5 marriages

Dame Joan Henrietta Collins (born 23 May 1933) is an English actress, author, and columnist. Collins is the recipient of several accolades. She was married five times in total.

Maxwell Reed, an actor, was her first husband; they were together from 1952 to 1956. In 1963, she wed her second husband, singer, actor, and film director Anthony Newley; two years later, in 1972, she wed her third husband, businessman Ron Kass.

Her marriage to Swedish singer Peter Holm in 1985 ended in divorce two years later, in 1987.

Collins and her current husband, Hollywood producer Percy Gibson, have been wed since 2002.

#3 Elizabeth Taylor – 8 marriages

Dame Elizabeth Rosemond Taylor (February 27, 1932 – March 23, 2011) was a British and American actress. She is famous for her eight marriages.

In 1950, at the age of 18, she married Conrad Hilton Jr. She wed actor Michael Wilding in 1952; however, they separated in 1957. She got engaged to theater producer Mike Todd in the following year, and they split up in 1958.

Taylor married Eddie Fisher, a singer, and actor who had previously married her close friend Debbie Reynolds in 1959. After divorcing in 1964, she famously wed her co-star in the movie Cleopatra, Richard Burton, ten days later. After divorcing ten years later, in 1974, they remarried and then divorced in 1976. She married politician and attorney John Warner later that year. After six years of marriage, the couple ended the relationship in 1982. In 1991, she got hitched to Larry Fortensky, a builder, who became her eighth and last spouse. In 1996, after five years of marriage, the couple filed for divorce.

#4 Billy Bob Thornton – 6 marriages

Billy Bob Thornton (born August 4, 1955) is an American actor. He had been married six times.

His first union took place between 1978 and 1980 with Melissa Lee Gatlin. He wed Toni Lawrence, a fellow actor, in 1986; they divorced in 1988.

From 1990 to 1992, he was married to actress Cynda Williams. He wed model Pietra Thornton the following year. After four years of marriage, the couple divorced in 1997. From 2000 to 2003, he was married to Angelina Jolie for three years. Currently, Thornton is wed to actress Connie Angland. After more than ten years of dating, the couple got married in 2014.

#5 Frank Sinatra – 4 marriages

Francis Albert Sinatra (December 12, 1915 – May 14, 1998) was an American singer and actor. Nicknamed the “Chairman of the Board”, Sinatra is considered one of the most popular entertainers of the 1940s, 1950s, and 1960s.

The iconic singer tied the knot with Nancy Barbato, his childhood girlfriend, in 1939, and the two stayed together until 1951. After he and his first wife divorced, he married actress Ava Gardner the following year. In 1966, he wed actress Mia Farrow; however, the couple split up in 1968.

In 1976, he wed Barbara Marx, a model, and performer, and they remained together until his death in 1998.

#6 Larry King – 8 marriages

Larry King (November 19, 1933 – January 23, 2021) was an American television and radio host. He was married eight times, to seven different people.

He wed his high school love, Freda Miller, in 1952, although their union was not accepted by their parents. In 1961, he tied the knot with TV host Annette Kaye. His marriage with model Alene Akins started in 1962 and ended in 1964. He married Mickey Sutphin the same year and divorced after two years.

He remarried his third wife, Akins, in 1968. In 1971, after three years of marriage, they divorced. He married Sharon Lepore, a TV production assistant, five years later; unfortunately, the couple separated in 1983. His seventh wife was  Julie Alexander, they got married in 1991 and then split up after a year.

In 1997, he wed Shawn Southwick, an actress, singer, TV host, and producer. The couple was in the midst of divorce proceedings when King died in 2021.

#7 Pamela Anderson – 6 marriages

Pamela Denise Anderson (born July 1, 1967) is a Canadian-American actress, model, activist, and author. She featured most prominently in the television series “Baywatch” (1992–1997).

After only four days of dating Tommy Lee, the drummer for Motley Crue, she tied the knot with him. In 1998, the couple broke up. She married musician Kid Rock in July 2006, but the couple divorced in November of the same year. A few weeks later, she got married to Rick Salomon, then they broke up after a year. In 2014, they got remarried, however, they soon got divorced.

A second brief marriage between Anderson and movie producer Jon Peters occurred in January 2020. Just two weeks later, the couple made their breakup public. Her sixth husband was bodyguard Dan Hayhurst. They married in December 2020; however, the couple announced their separation earlier this year.
