Reddit Throws Stones At Cheating Ex-Husband For Taking Advantage Of Dog To Manipulate Ex-Wife

As a couple of pet owners divorce, the situation can get intensely complicated. After fulfilling the obligations and deciding about pet custody, it's hard for both to join hands in taking care of the pet in the future, especially when they still have affection for the animal. Stuck in a similar situation, a woman who goes by the name Daydreamer on Reddit shared her story with her ex-husband and their dog on the recently favored subreddit r/AmItheA**hole. Let's dive into the couple's complex!

When the OP's old dog passed away, she and her husband adopted a new dog named Lucy. She found her sweet, however, since she hadn't recovered from her old dog's death, it was hard for them to form a tight bonding. One month later, her husband declared to have an affair thus they divorced. He refused to move out hence the OP had to find a new apartment and leave Lucy to stay with him.

The OP didn't desire to be irresponsible to the pup so she stopped by her ex's place to dog-sit from time to time. Knowing that she minded, her ex asked her to take care of Lucy more often since he had to go on work trips. Feeling upset in their old house and having trouble transporting, she eventually turned his demands down. After that, he began to attack her emotionally and make her feel terrible.

Reddit didn't hesitate to criticize the OP's ex-husband. They called him an arrogant manipulator. Not only did he take advantage of her sense of responsibility, but want to keep an eye on his ex-wife's status. It seemed that he had his purpose in keeping the dog. He was calculative and petty for trying to control and torture her mentally.

As the OP still wished to make excuses for her ex, Reddit responded to be angrier. They assumed him to play an upper-hand abusing tactic to dominate his target's mind. Reddit suggested she broke off with him thoroughly unless she wished to be sentimentally attached to him and got treated like a silly woman.

Reddit expected the Op to block her ex's phone number as well as other means of contact. There was no obligation or duty to the dog that she needed to carry out because the pup was registered to be his property. He could find convenient services for his pet if he really hoped.
