Mean Boss And Co-workers Against Dog Allergic Young Woman: Put Up With Dogs At Office Or Stay Home!

That is quite a tragedy to somebody who's in love with pets but has an allergy to animal antigens. They wish to cope with us pet owners yet have to stay away from our little furball. Although they are not the majority of the social community, we should make sure our pets' appearances do not negatively affect them. For us, cats and dogs are heavenly cute little angels. On the other side, they could become nightmarish beasts to those who endure allergic symptoms.

That was what happened to a young woman with Reddit account name u/nomoreofficedogs coming back to work at her office after a long quarantine due to the worldwide pandemic. She wrote on the topic r/AmItheA**hole because her mind had been jumping up and down. She was so hypersensitive to animal fur that just being near a dog or a cat could cause her really bad sneezing and coughing. Regardless of her vulnerability to pets, her colleagues brought their dogs along to the office as they felt upbeat that way.

The OP sent her objection to these colleagues' pets to her boss and got back a suggestion to work from home. She hadn't been able to afford a spacious studio thus she hoped her current studio wouldn't become her workplace. To work from home effectively, she would like to have her salary raised to hire a better room. The management staff failed to come up with a settlement. They eventually banned the pets out of the office. Those colleagues took their spites out on the OP by poking her all the time with their ridiculous judgments and mean jokes.

Reddit logically pointed out the OP was not worth the blame. The officer must obey the office's rules. If the rules didn't allow pets, then people should leave their pals at home. There was clueless to hold a grudge against a comrade who was suffering for the others' softy and fluffy. Moreover, it wasn't devastating to stay away from pets during work time so that a hypersensitive colleague could breathe normally.

Even though Reddit found the OP reasonable, they supposed she was not going to stop the vengeful wave soon coming at her. Regarding the boss's reaction, nobody thought she would get the protection and support she deserved. If so she'd better prepare herself a way out of the toxic working environment.

Luckily the OP confirmed that these mean colleagues were just a few of the company and she would manage to keep on working there. Reddit encouraged her by telling her that she was not alone since some of her comrades must have found the pets disturbed as she had felt.
