Dad Of 12 Y.O Girl Refuses To Get Away Daughter's Cat Due To Partner's Allergic Son When They Move In Together

A dad of a 12-year-old girl has shared a story about a problem that has recently risen his family. He has full custody of the daughter and he has now moved in with his new partner (36M).
As a single dad, he is aware that his daughter has been through a lot of traumas. She has been witnessing her mom and dad break up. She has just overcome the loss of her best friend. Fortunately, she has a great companion, a fluffy cat that has accompanied her for over 6 years and has been supporting her emotional crisis.
The point is that his partner's son has been suffering from cat allergies. As they move in together, the partner asked him to get rid of his daughter's cat. However, OP doesn't want to do so because he knows it will hurt his beloved daughter. He knows that the son doesn't often stay there (he stays with his mom most of the time and just move here the other weekend).

He intends to build some additional rooms for his partner and his son. While waiting for it to be finished, he's preparing an apartment for them to stay at his expense. This idea offends the partner. But OP asks Reddit if he's wrong for his behaviors.
