The Mummy is an action-thriller remake of the 1932 film of the same name. In this movie, Rick O’Connell, the former captain in the French Foreign Legio, takes an adventure to Hamunaptra, the city of the dead, with librarian Evelyn and her brother. Following the success of The Mummy, the sequel The Mummy Return was released in 2001. Rick and Evelyn face another challenge when they find the corpse of Imhotep resurrected. After the success of The Mummy, Brendan Fraser appeared in some other movies such as Bedazzled (2000), Looney Tunes: Back in Action (2003), and Journey to the Centre of the Earth (2008), and TV series like Texas Rising and Trust, Wishology (2009), Condor (2018).
Bonus fact: Brendan Fraser had his first film lead role in the 1992 comedy Encino Man, where he played a caveman frozen in front of history thawed in the present.
