"Good things happen when neighbors start communicating." That is the professional tagline of Nextdoor, a neighborhood-specific social network that allows you to communicate with others in your immediate vicinity. The concept behind Nextdoor is that people can use it to post garage sale occasions, lost puppy information, and requests for home goods that their neighbors no longer desire. Nextdoor is a terrific idea in a vacuum. It's a great way for neighbors to get to know each other, and all that.

In fact, Nextdoor is a violent, poisonous environment in general. There are some fantastic postings that provide vegetables, or puppy sitting products and services, but there are a lot of posts that are just there to gripe about, such as complaints about overpriced items. Complaints about lawns that haven't been mowed. Complaints about...smartly, just about everything beneath the solar. Give them a way to communicate with their neighbors, and they'll use it to complain about specific neighbors. Now, we're not saying that everything on Nextdoor is bad. In fact, a significant number of the posts are downright amusing. Jenn Takahashi is the only one who is aware of this. Takahashi is the brilliant mind behind the @bestofnextdoor Twitter handle. @BestOfNextdoor is a Twitter account that shares the strangest and most bizarre postings from the neighborhood-based social media app.

Nextdoor is the app to see how weird the people you call neighbors are, from aged people who don't know how to create a poll to other users policing their neighbor's wardrobe.
