OP(17) and his brother (20) used to share the same bedroom. They got along well until the brother asked for a dog and their mom agreed. OP was furious because he developed an allergy to dogs. However, he was reluctant to agree as long as his brother couldn't bring the puppy into the bedroom. He also said that he wouldn't take care of the dog (Goldie) as it was not his responsibility.

Sadly, his brother didn't care what he said. He asked OP to walk the dog and feed her. When OP said no, he started blaming him for starving the dog. OP had no choice but to give food to the dog. "I felt really bad so I gave food to the dog without telling my brother. It happened in other instances but I didn't give in the other times."

Not only does OP's brother ask him to care for Goldie, but his mom also asks him. And of course, he said no because he believes that if he gives in his brother and his mother will end up always asking him favors when he does not want to take care of the dog.

However, OP still felt really bad because he felt like he was neglecting Goldie. He went on Reddit to ask if he was at fault. After reading his post, Redditors quickly responded. Most of them agreed that OP was not wrong, but they felt sorry for the dog.
