What The Famous Supermodels Of The '90s Look Like Today?

On May 22nd, British model, actress, singer, and businesswoman, Naomi Campbell, turns 52. It's hard to believe that Naomi first succeed in the modeling industry nearly 40 years ago, where she broke barriers and became an extremely successful color supermodel. Naomi was one of the most famous faces in the fashion world in the 90s. The British beauty graced the covers of more than 300 top magazines including Vogue, Another Man, Harper's Bazaar, Vanity Fair, the Face, W,... But she certainly wasn't the only one.
In fact, the 90s decade is regarded as the "Age of the Supermodel," a period in which models essentially controlled the fashion industry. However, they have changed over time. So we decided to compare images of prominent models shot at different times in their careers to show you how they have changed. And you may be amazed that some of them have modeling careers spanning decades.

#1 Naomi Campbell

Naomi Campbell began her modeling career at the age of 15 and has since become one of the most well-known and sought-after models of the last four decades. Her mesmerizing almond-shaped eyes, pyramid cheekbones, and towering stature set her apart from everyone else and helped her achieve remarkable success. In addition to modeling, Campbell has released an R&B studio album and had various acting roles in films and television shows, including the modeling competition reality program The Face and its foreign spinoffs. Campbell is also active in several charitable endeavors.

She began her modeling career at the age of 15 and was the first African-American woman to appear three times on the covers of GQ and the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue. She took the catwalks by storm, booking 25 shows in her first season. When her career progressed, she gained weight and became fiercely proud of her curvier frame. Since then, she's produced and presented America's Next Top Model, and she's spoken out on problems ranging from racism to body image. She has also appeared in films such as "Coyote Ugly" (2000) and "Resurrection" (2002), as well as the television programs Gossip Girl (2009) and Glee (2013).

Turlington rose to prominence as a supermodel in the late 1980s and early 1990s. She was one of the most popular cover girls in the 1990s, together with Naomi Campbell and Linda Evangelista. She was named the "Face of the 20th Century" by the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and with good reason: she has led ads for Calvin Klein, Maybelline, and Giorgio Armani. At the age of 16, Eva Herzigová won a modeling contest in Prague, which launched her career. Her soft features and platinum blonde hair earned her the nickname "90s Marilyn Monroe," and she was featured in Sports Illustrated as well as high-profile ads for H&M, Guess, and Agent Provocateur. Her Wonderbra "Hello Boys" commercial from 1994 is her most recognized work. She is known as Picasso's wife Olga Khokhlova in the film Modigliani and starred in a film directed by renowned French filmmaker Gaspar Noé.

Amber Evangeline Valletta began her career as a model at the age of eighteen, receiving her first of sixteen American Vogue covers. Valletta rose to supermodel fame in the 1990s, appearing in campaigns for Giorgio Armani, Chanel, Escada, Louis Vuitton, Prada, Valentino, Gucci, and Versace, as well as landing multimillion-dollar cosmetics deals with Calvin Klein and Elizabeth Arden. In the 2000s, Valletta began to focus on her career as an actress. And she appeared in many movies such as "Hitch" (2005), "Transporter 2 "(2005), "Man About Town" (2006), "Dead Silence" (2007), "Gamer "(2009), and "The Spy Next Door" (2010).

Helena Christensen's career began when she won the Miss Copenhagen pageant by mistake (she thought it was a charity fashion show). Her status was cemented by her appearance with then-husband Richard Gere at the 1991 Academy Awards in a breathtaking red Versace gown and an iconic Pepsi commercial during the Super Bowl the following year. She went on to host MTV's House of Style for a period, and her daughter, model and actress Kaia Gerber, was influenced by her. She still walks the catwalk now and again, most recently concluding the Versace 2018 spring/summer fashion show with some of her '90s peers.

Initially notable as a model, Dickinson has been disputably described by herself as the first supermodel. She was a judge on four seasons of America's Next Top Model (2003–2006), and was one of the most successful models of the 1970s and 1980s. In 2005, Dickinson founded a modeling agency, which was featured in the reality show The Janice Dickinson Modeling Agency (2006–2008). She co-starred in the reality show Janice & Abbey with British model Abbey Clancy in 2008. Dickinson has released three autobiographical books: "No Lifeguard on Duty" (2002), "Everything About Me Is Fake… And I'm Perfect" (2004), and "Check Please! Dating, Mating, and Extricating" (2006).

#9 Karolína Kurková

Karolna Kurková is a Czech-American model and actress who rose to fame as a Victoria's Secret Angel and Vogue cover model. Mario Testino praised the "proportions of her body and her face, as well as her energy level". Kurková was one of the highest-paid models in the world in 2007, earning an estimated $5 million. In the same year, she was ranked 6th on Forbes' annual list of the highest-paid models.

She is well recognized for her work with Victoria's Secret, where she was the company's first PINK spokesmodel. From 2004 until 2017, Ambrosio was a Victoria's Secret Angel, and she has also posed for Christian Dior, Armani, Ralph Lauren, and Next. Ambrosio was rated fifth on Forbes' list of the highest-paid models, with an annual salary of $6.6 million. She is frequently referred to as one of the world's hottest ladies in the popular press.

She quickly established herself as a supermodel, appearing on the covers of some of the world's most famous magazines. Iman was an instant hit in the fashion industry thanks to her long neck, towering stature, thin body, exquisite features, and copper-toned complexion, even though she says that her appearance is just Somali. Halston, Gianni Versace, Calvin Klein, Issey Miyake, and Donna Karan were among the designers that used her as a model.

Heidi Klum was the first German model to become a Victoria's Secret Angel and appeared on the cover of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue in 1998. Following a successful modeling career, Klum became the host and judge of Germany's Next Topmodel and the reality program Project Runway, and she earned an Emmy nomination in 2008 and a victory in 2013 for Outstanding Host for a Reality or Reality-Competition Program.
