Many movies illustrate the lives of characters from childhood to adulthood. Therefore, the casting directors often choose the cast who are able to keep a resemblance between each other
. This, inevitably, enhance the authenticity of the movie and contribute to its success.
Some directors even invited actors’ younger or older siblings to play a role or some scenes in the movies. For example, Jamie Lynn, Britney Spear’s younger sister, portrayed Lucy in her youth in Crossroads or Elle Fanning played Dakota's younger version in I Am Sam.
