7 Celebrities Whose Parents Were In Prison Like Routines

A ranking of the world's most famous and successful people whose parents had served time in prison. In some cases, illustrious persons had less-than-ideal upbringings because their parents were incarcerated. A few of these future stars' moms gave birth to them in prison. It is widely known that the father of a well-known actor was convicted of several murders.
Among all of these, Lindsay Lohan is our favorite. Michael Lohan, the actress's father, has been in and out of jail. Insider trading, drunk driving, and violence are among the allegations against him. Woody Harrelson's father was convicted of two murders and spent much of his life behind bars. He made an unsuccessful break from ADX Florence Supermax Prison in 1995.

1. Lindsay Lohan

Michael Lohan, Lindsay's father, has a long history of incarceration. Assault, DWI, and two counts of insider trading from 1990 add to his lengthy legal troubles (2004).

2. Woody Harrelson

Since his father was found guilty of murdering two people, Woody Harrelson has spent most of his life behind bars. Charles Harrelson, a contract killer, was sentenced to life in prison in 1973 for the murder of Sam Degelia in 1968. He murdered U.S. District Judge John H. Wood, Jr. in 1979 when he was out on parole. Harrelson's 1995 jailbreak attempt ended with his capture and transferred to ADX Florence, a maximum security facility. In 2007, he succumbed to cancer.

3. Drew Barrymore

Drew Barrymore did not have a typical upbringing. John Drew Barrymore, her father, was arrested many times in the 1950s and 1960s for public intoxication, drug usage, and assault on his first wife, Cara.

Leighton Meester's mother, Constance was in federal prison while the actress was pregnant with her daughter. After being convicted as a member of a narcotics ring that imported marijuana from Jamaica to the United States, she was incarcerated for some time. Since Meester's birth took place in a medical facility, her mother was allowed to spend the first few months of her life at a halfway house with her daughter. Her mother went to prison, and her grandparents took care of her until she was old enough to return home.

5. Tupac Shakur

Tupac Shakur's mother, Afeni Shakur, was heavily engaged in the Black Panthers Party. Over 150 counts of conspiracy against the United States government and New York landmarks were filed against her after she was implicated in multiple explosions. Even though she represented herself in court and was found not guilty, she was sentenced to 11 months in prison in 1970. Tupac was born a month after Shakur's release from prison, and she was subsequently cleared of all charges.

Hope Solo's father, Jeffrey, was incarcerated for theft when she was conceived during a conjugal visit. Later incarcerated for kidnapping Solo and her brother as kids and transporting them out of state, he remains a shadowy con artist with a murky past.

While Kellie Pickler was growing up, her father, Bo, was frequently arrested and jailed. Following his conviction for aggravated assault and battery for a stabbing incident in 2003, he spent three years in prison. After breaking the terms of his probation in 2013, he was declared a fugitive in Florida. Pickler's grandparents had a major role in her upbringing.
