Ryan had a chance to work with Eva when Ryan suggested Eva for the role of Romina, his fictional love interest in 2011. Three years after the lovebirds first fell for each other, they became parents with the birth of their first daughter, Esmeralda Amada in 2014. One year later, during Eva's 41st birthday celebration, Ryan held secretly a party full of flowers, balloons, and gifts for her. When asked what the quality he looks for in a woman, Ryan said "is that she's Eva Mendes."
