"Let Me Bury My Child First And I'll Get Back To You": Shameless Bosses And The Worst Times They Refused Day-Off Requests

It doesn't legally require employers to provide paid time off for US employees. That's sad but true. So, technically, employers have no obligation to give you paid or unpaid leave, even when you ask for it. Frustrating. Yes. While employees in other countries can enjoy their 4-6 weeks annual vacation, we are here struggling to ask for leave. However, sometimes it's not that we don't have any policy regarding this issue, but it's the employer being greedy.
If an employee requests time off that’s mandated by the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) or any other labor law, the time off must be given. Do you know about this? We bet that many companies blind their employees and refuse their time off requests as if they have the right to do so. That's the thing. So, when Twitter user @PostOpPrincess, who works as a surgical/trauma registered nurse, shared that she quit her job after being refused time off request for her wedding, more people came in and shared similar stories. And you know, they're all infuriating, to say the least.
