Is This India’s ‘Lost City Of Atlantis’?

The prehistoric municipality of Dwarka is rumored to have sunk underneath the Arabian Sea. Until now, archaeologists have begun to search for the foundations of the city walls to prove its existence.
The city of Dwarka is one of the 7 holy pilgrimage centers in India, holding religious as well as archaeological significance. Mentioned in the epic Mahabharata, its prehistoric incarnation extended nearly 84 km as a fortified city where the Gomti River and the Arabian Sea intersect.

According to the recorded documents, the ancient city became submerged underneath the Arabian Sea after Krishna, a major deity in Hinduism, died.
In the 2nd half of the last century, several efforts have been made by archaeologists to discover physical proof of the submerged city off the coast of the present-day Dwarka, in order to confirm its existence beyond doubt.

Consequently, several relics have been found underwater, including stone blocks and pillars, whose precise age is still in question.
Currently, archaeologists are intending to conduct an underwater excavation to find the foundations of the prehistoric city walls. If they succeed in discovering the precise location of the settlement, it’ll be of remarkable historical importance to India.
