Two Foster Kitties Officially Become Members Of The Family After Helping Pitbull Overcome Separation Anxiety

Our two little heroes were named Tulip and Sparkles. The kittens were found within a lot of vacant houses by a good and brave Samaritan. They were only a few weeks old and at risk of illness or injury. Luckily, this kind man immediately took them to the ASPCA’s Kitten Nursery. Thanks to the help of ASPCA’s staff, the kitties were completely recovered.

Rosemarie is an ASPCA volunteer. She has a black and white pit bull mix named Daisy. Four years ago, Rosemarie came home and suddenly noticed that Daisy was trembling and trying to hide. She thought there must be something that really scared the dog. Since then, Daisy doesn’t like to be home alone.
Whenever the dog returns home from a walk with her owner, she is always reluctant to get into the house out of fear of putting inside alone. When Rosemarie has to leave the house, Daisy will block the door in attempting to keep her owner from leaving.
Rosemarie often brings animals into her home for socialization and care before helping them find a forever home. She witnessed how well her dog interacted with other animals, but now daisy is no longer showing that. Rosemarie tried her best to help this poor dog, but to no avail, until she brought the two lovely kittens into her home.

First days in a fostering home, the kittens were apprehensive of a new environment and the strange dog. Just a few days later, the kittens got used to the new home. Though the bond between the kitties and Daisy couldn’t change overnight, they gradually interacted with each other. The kittens climbed on Daisy and let the gentle doggo groom them as the trio lay together.

“They often sleep and play together. Tulip especially has a calming effect on Daisy. The kittens get used to dogs, and that's great socialization. Daisy likes kittens even more than other dogs.” Rosemarie said.
The bond of trio pets is so sweet. The kitties' calming effect on Daisy helps the dog less anxiety when Rosemarie leaves the house.

“When I'm getting ready to leave the apartment, Tulip lies down on Daisy's bed, and then Daisy joins her. When Daisy comes back from a walk, Tulip comes into the hallway to greet her and then follows her inside. She literally helps Daisy walk back into the apartment,” Rosemarie said.

Now, Rosemarie decided to adopt the two kittens so that this lovely friendship can be separated. Hope that this story inspires others to try fostering and have wonderful experiences.
