Game Of Thrones Prequel "House Of The Dragon" To Debut On HBO

The highly awaited Game of Thrones spin-off TV series House of the Dragon will make its debut on August 21 this year on HBO. In the UK, all eight seasons of the main series were broadcast by Sky TV and this platform will also distribute this new series in simulcast starting from the night of 22 August.

Based on the original books by George R.R. Martin, the Game of Thrones TV series was produced and distributed by HBO from 2011 to 2019 with a total of eight seasons. Due to the lack of Martin's last two books, The Winds of Winter and A Dream of Spring, the last three seasons of Game of Thrones were made with no material to draw from and this was undoubtedly a choice that did not convince fans of both the books and the show.
Despite criticism of the final season, HBO still decided to produce the new spin-off series House of the Dragon based on the 2018 prequel novel Fire & Blood, which is set two hundred years before the start of Game of Thrones.

House of the Dragon will consist of ten episodes and count on the usual ensemble cast with Patrick Considine as King Viserys Targaryen, Emma D'Arcy as Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen, and Matt Smith as Prince Daemon Targaryen. Other names involved are Olivia Cook, Rhys Ifans, and Steve Toussaint.
