WandaVision's Second Season Is Highly Unlikely

The Disney+ MCU series WandaVision will not be renewed for a second season, according to Moon Knight director Mohamed Diab, confirming recent remarks from the show's actress Elizabeth Olsen.
nullDiab told SFX Magazine that he thinks the new MCU series Moon Knight would go longer than the prior MCU series. In the process, he stated that WandaVision, the first MCU series created for Disney's streaming service, will not be renewed for a second season. "It’s like a crazy world," Diab said. "Even with the successful shows, like WandaVision, they’re not doing season two. She jumped into a film, maybe she’s going to come back or not. I don’t know. And that’s exciting."
nullWandaVision created waves in the Marvel Cinematic Universe with its unique tale and style. Wanda and Vision appeared to be caught in comedies from several decades in the series' initial premise. Audiences didn't realize what was going on until the series explained the trauma-response assisted by Wanda's chaos magic a few episodes in. While the one-and-only season finale of WandaVision does not expressly set up a sequel season, there were several hanging narrative lines that fans hoped would lead to a second season. Rather, WandaVision sets the stage for the upcoming Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, in which Wanda Maximoff is expected to return as a villain. WandaVision star Elizabeth Olsen also confirmed in an interview last year that WandaVision will not return and was always designed to be a limited series.

However, one of WandaVision's characters will return for a second appearance on Disney+. Kathryn Hahn, who played Agatha Harkness on the show, will star in Agatha: House of Harnkess, a spinoff. The song "Agatha All Along," which revealed how Hahn's malevolent witch had been covertly twisting the strings the entire time, went viral after the villain's stunning exposure at the end of WandaVision. The song has already received a Grammy nomination for Best Song Written for Visual Media, which will be given in April 2022. The release date for the spin-off on Netflix is yet uncertain, but Hahn revealed that the series is starting to take shape to be "exactly what I would have hoped and dreamt it to be."
