Jared Leto Teases Encounters With More Marvel Villains In New "Morbius" Featurette

Right after the amazing success of Venom in 2018, Sony Pictures has decided to start developing Morbius, a spin-off of the movie that stars Jared Leto as the same-name antihero. As part of Sony's Spider-Man Universe (SSU), the film centers on a genius scientist with a rare blood disease who later becomes the famous Living Vampire of Marvel comics.
Morbius was initially scheduled for last year. However, the movie has been delayed several times due to the pandemic. It has recently been rescheduled to land in theaters on April 1, 2022.

Just a while ago, Sony has released a new featurette in view of the imminent release of Morbius in theaters. In the clip, Jared Leto teases the opening of the Multiverse and potential crossovers with other villains from the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
"Morbius is, and always has been, a standout persona in Marvel lore. There's a lot of mystery around this character; it's not a character who's had a movie about him before," the actor explained. "There's an entire world to discover. In the film version of Morbius, he's part of a much larger universe."

"The Multiverse has officially opened, and there are all kinds of opportunities for villains to meet up," he added.
Directed by Daniel Espinosa (Life) and written by Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless (Dracula Untold, Gods of Egypt), Morbius stars Jared Leto as Michael Morbius, Matt Smith as Milo, Adria Arjona as Martine Bancroft, Tyrese Gibson as Simon Stroud, Michael Keaton as Adrian Toomes aka Vulture, Jared Harris as Emil Nikos and Al Madrigal as Alberto Rodriguez.
As mentioned above, the movie is scheduled to premiere on April 1st this year.
