In our society, childfree marriage is quite common now. However, if a married couple decides not to have kids, there'll still be comments about that. Seems like it's a social-culture thing whereby your relatives keep pestering you two about whether or not you're going to have kids, why you don't have them sooner, etc. And if your answer is you don't want to have kids, for whatever reason, people will be likely to tell you that you're irresponsible and callous.
Let's be honest. If it comes to having kids, even though it's your personal life and your decision to make, people will want you to listen to them. It's just weird, and no one feels comfortable when receiving such "advice." The woman in the story below was in pretty much the same situation. She and her husband decided not to have kids. And even though they talked about that quite many times at family gatherings, their relatives were still holding out hope. This time, at their housewarming, one of her sibling in laws brought it up again. She playfully made a joke that she preferred sushi to kids to brush it off, but things didn't end there.
