The Rock Is Supposedly Working On A Call Of Duty Film

Dwayne Johnson teased that he's collaborating on an online gaming film, and it's now been revealed that the movie will be based on Call Of Duty. Dwayne Johnson stated in a recent interview with Men's Journal that he's slated to feature in yet another cinematic adaptation of a renowned video game series.
null“We’re going to bring one of the biggest, most badass games to the screen–one that I’ve played for years. I can’t tell you which game, in particular, we’re doing, but there will be an announcement this year. I’m really excited to bring it to fans around the world. Of course, we’re going to do right by our gamer friends—but really we’re just going to make a great movie.”
nullJohnson has previously been in two major video game films, Doom and Rampage. Fans immediately flocked to Twitter to try to find out which video game franchise Johnson was referring to. There are a number of video games that it might have been, but Giant Freakin Robot has learned that it will be a Call Of Duty film. Activision was said to be working on a Call of Duty cinematic world back in 2015.
nullHowever, Activision confirmed in 2020 that movies were no longer a focus. Two years later, Microsoft announced the acquisition of Activision Blizzard for £68 billion. Activision Blizzard has been embroiled in a slew of scandals in recent years. We won't go into detail about all of them here. It appears like Microsoft is attempting to steer the ship. One way they can accomplish this is by revitalizing the company's characteristics. At the very least, a blockbuster Call of Duty film featuring Dwayne Johnson would do well at the box office.
