Apple To Develop First MonsterVerse TV Series Featuring Godzilla And Kong

Here's exciting news for fans of the so-called MonsterVerse: the company has ordered a live-action series from Legendary Television set in the narrative universe of monsters.
The currently untitled series will continue the story of Legendary's MonsterVerse, which already has four films so far: Godzilla, Kong: Skull Island, Godzilla: King of the Monsters, and Godzilla vs. Kong.

Following the battle between Godzilla and the Titans that wreaked havoc in San Francisco and the shocking new reality that monsters are real, the series will explore a family's journey to uncover their buried secrets and a legacy that links them to the mysterious organization known as Monarch. As fans already know, Monarch is a secret government entity that has played an important role in the MonsterVerse franchise. For years, the organization has always worked hard to cover up its existence and defend the world from creatures like Godzilla and the other Titans.
Chris Black and Matt Fraction will be executive producers and co-creators of the series, and Black will also be the showrunner. Safehouse Pictures' Joby Harold and Tory Tunnell will also executive produce alongside Hiro Matsuoka and Takemasa Arita of Toho, the company that owns the Godzilla character and has licensed Legendary rights to the series.

The four MonsterVerse films released to date have grossed nearly $ 2 billion at the worldwide box office.
Apple is currently continuing its plan to focus more and more frequently on large television productions as what already happened with many highly appreciated TV series such as Foundation and Invasion, and this monster narrative universe is surely a part of it. This new show will also expand with Kong: The Animated Series, currently in development on Netflix.
