Not Wanting Homeless Dog To Pass Away Alone, College Student Holds Him In Her Arms All Night
The moment student Janine Guido from Mechanicsburg, USA, holds a poor Pit Bull all night so he won't pass away alone is a beautiful moment to believe in true love between humans and animals.
Janine Guido has a great love for animals, and she is the founder of Speranza Animal Rescue, which works to help animals in need. She first met Watson the stray dog in Philadelphia. The dog was starving, covered in sores and wounds. His hind leg suffered a big tumor, and he looked very sick.
Waston was then moved to a local shelter that offered to keep him over the night. The staff tried everything their power to help the pooch feel as comfortable as he could. To the dog that was coming so close to death, there is nothing more important than being able to be cuddled in its owner's arms. Waston thought that it was just a dream, but Guido made it become true.
“I had a gut feeling that things weren’t going to be good the next day,” Guido told the Dodo. “I didn’t want to leave him alone. Not when he needed me the most.” She did what she could to comfort him, gathering blankets and dog beds and keeping him close. She spent the night with Watson holding him as he slept.
The compassionate did what she could to comfort him. Sharing the same blanket, she hugged the dog all night so that he could sleep in safety and comfort.
The next morning, Waston woke up walking in circles without eating or drinking anything. Knowing the dog was close to the end of his time, Guido refused to leave him at that difficult moment.
“I’m just so thankful I was able to hold him tight for his last night,” Guido said. “I was telling him how much he was loved — and that his life mattered. My heart is breaking, but I would not change a thing.”
