The Witcher Season 3 Release Date & Story - What We Know So Far
The Witcher Season 2 premiered on Netflix, and while it did not break any statistics like the previous season, it performed admirably on the streaming service. Henry Cavill plays Geralt of Rivia in the show, and he's fantastic. People appear to adore Cavill in the part, as do we, and they are intrigued by this new show. Many viewers have been asking for updates on the third season on social media. Will there be a third season of The Witcher? If so, when will it be available, and what may the plot be?
All of these are questions that we will attempt to answer in this post. But, before we get into any of that, I need to tell you a little bit more about The Witcher. “Convinced Yennefer’s life was lost at the Battle of Sodden, Geralt of Rivia brings Princess Cirilla to the safest place he knows, his childhood home of Kaer Morhen. While the Continent’s kings, elves, humans, and demons strive for supremacy outside its walls, he must protect the girl from something far more dangerous: the mysterious power she possesses inside.”
What we already know is that The Witcher Season 3 has been officially announced. The third season was revealed via The Witcher's official Twitter account. Here's what they had to say about The Witcher 3 third season:

This was revealed much before Season 2, indicating that Netflix had high hopes for this series. With the animated film Nightmare of the Wolf and the planned spinoff series The Witcher: Blood Origin, Netflix is already extending The Witcher's universe. It appears like Netflix envisions this show as their version of The Walking Dead, which means that the primary series might wind up lasting 8 seasons, if not more.
My best bet for when The Witcher Season 3 will be published is sometime during 2023. We strongly doubt the third season will be released in 2022 because it has not yet officially begun production as of the writing of this article. Having said that, there are some rumors that The Witcher Season 3 may begin production soon.
Lauren Hissrich, the producer of the show, said (through Redanian Intelligence) on December 3rd, 2021, that it was their last week in the production office, and they were near to completing the writing process. Hissrich also revealed that The Witcher Season 3 will explore The Time of Contempt, the second novel in The Witcher saga.
“This is our last week [December 3] in the writers’ room. We’re almost done with the scripting phase, and it’s amazing. The creative process is now really just starting. We have the scripts, and now we’ll bring directors on, the actors back in, and really start delving in deeper and reflecting back and making sure that it’s the perfect season.”
