Gal Gadot Confirmed Wonder Woman 3 Will Start Production Next Year

Gal Gadot, the face of Warner Bros.' Wonder Woman flicks, has stated that production on Wonder Woman 3 will start in a year and a half. Gadot initially appeared in the DCEU in 2016 with the launch of Zack Snyder's Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice. The studio quickly followed up with a standalone Wonder Woman film from producer Patty Jenkins in 2017, which was a tremendous hit with both reviewers and audiences alike. However, its sequel, Wonder Woman 1984, was considerably more critically panned, despite being among the first wave of Hollywood blockbusters to be made available on streaming because of the COVID-19 epidemic.
nullA third movie to conclude Jenkins' trilogy has been in the works for quite some time. Jenkins revealed that the broad character narrative for Wonder Woman 3 has been planned shortly after WW84 wrapped primary production in early 2019. The narrative and actors of the movie are still mainly unknown, however, Jenkins and Gadot have been confirmed to reprise for the third chapter. In addition, Warner Bros. has stated that, unlike WW84, they want to give the film a standard theatrical distribution.
nullGadot just delivered a long-awaited insight on Wonder Woman 3 in an interview. She claims the screenplay is now being worked on and that filming would "probably start in a year and a half or so." A release date has yet to be determined.
nullLucasfilm confirmed in 2020 that Jenkins will helm the next theatrical Star Wars picture, Rogue Squadron, which was set to be released in 2023. This prompted DC enthusiasts to wonder if her Disney responsibilities will interfere with the creation of Wonder Woman 3, especially since the filmmaker is also attached to helm a Cleopatra biopic. Jenkins has since resigned as director of the Cleopatra picture, and development on Rogue Squadron has been put on hold permanently by Lucasfilm. These conditions, together with Gadot's remarks, appear to imply that Wonder Woman 3 will be a top priority for the filmmaker.
nullGiven recent reports about the Justice League in the DCEU, Wonder Woman's position in the series will be fascinating to follow. Diana Prince might be one of the only characters to cross over from Snyder's concept of the DC universe into the new course Warner Bros. is now charting. Given the alterations in the DCEU's narrative as well as the mixed reviews to WW84, Wonder Woman 3 will face a few roadblocks before reaching the big screen.
