Walrus Travels 2500 Miles From North Pole To Ireland After A "Nap" On Iceberg

Taking a nap is something we all experience in life. But taking a nap and traveling about two thousand and five hundred miles seems pretty hard to believe. But yes, you are not mishearing anything. This March, a walrus was found waking up on the western shore of Ireland after taking a "nap" on an iceberg from the North Pole.

Kevin Flannery, director of Oceanworld Aquarium in Dingle, Co. Kerry, claimed: “I’d say what happened is he fell asleep on an iceberg and drifted off and then he had gone too far, out into the mid-Atlantic or someplace like that down off Greenland potentially.”
“That’s how it normally goes… they fall asleep on an iceberg and are swept away from the Arctic.”
“I’m hoping he’ll be able to catch a few scallops around Valentia. He does, however, wish to relax at this point. He’s from the North Pole, maybe off the coast of Greenland.”
Although it was just an accident, people couldn't hide their excitement when they explored the story behind it.

The walrus was spotted by Alan Houlihan and his 5-year-old daughter, who was walking along the coast at that time, staying 50 meters far away from the animal.
“At first, I assumed it was a seal, but then we noticed the tusks. He was huge. He was the size of a bull or a cow, or something close to that, and he’s enormous, gigantic.” Houlihan said.

“He went aside for a bit, then came back and returned to the rocks,” the man added.
The animal looked so cute and adorable, but local people were warned to give it plenty of room and avoid making it frightened. Very soon, the walrus was helped to come back to its homeland.
