It's a very normal mentality. According to psychology, people prefer complicated things over simple ones, thus they want to surround themselves with a complex environment. So why? Cause stress and anxiety? Or they overthink everything to avoid the truth and easily ignore this issue.
No matter what the reasons are, to me, life is simple. Everything can be reduced to a Yes/No response, and the answers are only black and white. However, implementation isn't always straightforward.
