Tell Me You're American Without Telling Me You're American

How can people tell where someone is from just by looking at them? Like, they scan through a person in 5 seconds then go: "He/she is definitely Korean." Well, maybe people in some countries have very distinctive traits that can indirectly tell about their identities. And also, some others are so attentive to those features that they can spot them almost immediately. However, this does not always work. Some people can look much like a European but actually come from the Middle East. And if people come from the US, a multiracial country, this even gets more difficult.
Maybe the appearance cannot help much here, but their actions and habits scream that they're Americans, precisely.
