Photographer Uses Disney Princesses To Bring Real-Life Issues To Light

Isn't it true that we expect Disney princesses to live happily ever after? Maybe it's because that's what Disney wants us to think when they create romantic love tales and lofty goals and ambitions in their films. But have you ever considered that princesses like Tiana, Jasmine, or Snow White may suffer what kind of challenges and have what type of dark aspects if they live in our modern world?
Shannon Dermody, a 20-year-old photographer from upstate New York, chose to investigate concerns such as domestic abuse and pollution that Disney princesses could experience if they lived in current times. “Each photo shows a different problem that is going on in the world. I want people to not look away from these problems. They do exist.” - Dermody once shared.
