Injured Dog Makes Miraculous Recovery After Being Given To Shelter

As pet owners, no one wants to abandon or neglect their pets. But sometimes, many have no choice but to give up on their beloved friends. Although they love their furry friends so much, they have to surrender them to animal shelters or organizations. It's because they can't take care of these pets anymore and can't provide them a happy life that they deserve.

The man in this post also surrendered his dog Sheba, a black Labrador/Shepherd mix, to East Bay SPCA, an animal organization located in Oakland, California. His dog was injured due to a dog fight and needed medical treatments. For this reason, he rode his bike to the organization to ask for help. Sheba was painful, but she did not show it and tried to follow her owner.

The man told the employees at East Bay that he could not afford the medical expenses to care for her. The organization offered to help her, but that would mean he had to give her up. His heart was broken, but he just wanted his dog to have a better life. He knelt before Sheba and told her: "I love you. This is the best thing that I can do for you right now." Then he gave her the last kiss and left.

Sheba's leg was bandaged but it was damp. It was swollen and started to show signs of a serious infection. She was immediately checked, and her injuries were repaired. In order to save her life, the doctors had to amputate her leg. It was a long and potentially painful recovery, but Sheba and the doctors didn't give up.

Thanks to the care and love of everyone, Sheba was on the road to recovery with nothing to hold her back. According to Gwen Gadd DVM, a staff veterinarian, Sheba now has a new name Gracie.

Gracie is now living happily in a loving home with a lovely couple. Despite losing one leg, she is fast and never lets anything stop her from enjoying her life. She doesn't even realize she has three legs.
