Bear Smells Brownies Baking Inside Home, Tries To Break In To Get Some

It was a regular day in Avon, Connecticut. An old lady was in her kitchen baking brownies when heard a thump against her front door. She turned around and found an unexpected guest standing on her porch, peering through the glass, and trying to get inside her house. However, the lady got scared because the guest was a giant bear. She quickly asked her neighbor Bob Belfiore to help her gently scare the bear away before he got in and harmed her.

After receiving the call, Belfiore rushed to her house. He was well aware that dealing with such a large animal is no joke, so he called the police. “We have a bear attempting to get into a house and he’s not afraid of noise, screaming or yelling or pounding,” Belfiore said when he called 911. The bear was tagged, and there were no reported injuries.

It was clear that the bear smelled the brownies and decided to ask for his portion. The bear was very persistent to find a way in and determined to do everything he could to get himself some. It looked like it wouldn’t leave without a brownie! Clearly, this bear is a big fan of brownies. However, after failing several times, the bear finally realized no one wanted to invite him in for a brownie and decided to leave.

"He actually left the kitchen area and went to the second set of doors off the deck," Belfiore told WFSB. "And tried those and then went to the third set of doors into the living room and attempted to get into those."

While many people think that it was a cute situation, it got Avon residents frightened. "This bear was angry about not being able to get the food. It was a rather harrowing experience although it looks cute in the photos," Belfiore said.

Bears are crazy about food and have an incredible sense of smell, so don't leave food out in areas where bears may show off, as they will find it and even come back to get more in the future.
