Groom Kneeled Down To His Mother For A Dance, Making People Down Tears In Wedding Room

It is a tradition to see the bride and her dad share a loving dance at her wedding. At this wedding, however, it wasn’t the bride and her dad that made people down in tears. It was groom Luke Rheault and his mother.
Rebekah Rheault was diagnosed to suffer from ALS (Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis), which made her rely on a wheelchair. Despite her condition, groom Luke planned a special thing to make sure she didn't miss any memorable moments in her son's wedding.
As Mariah Carey’s “Hero” played, Luke started looking at his mom in the wheelchair. Then, he took her from the crowd  and showered his beloved mother with gentle kisses and hugs. When they were on the dance floor, the thirty-three-year-old groom kneeled to his mom so they could dance cheek to cheek.

Mom Rebekah was taken by surprise, and soon, she bawled her eyes with tears of happiness and excitement. No one in the room could hold back tears to see that touching moment. In her video capturing this emotional scene, Kristeena Rheault (Luke's wife) wrote: "This was probably the most touching moment I have ever witnessed. When my husband danced with his mother there was not a dry eye in the house…."

“I don’t recall at any point in the wedding thinking that these might be my last few moments with my mother. So I did what felt right at the time, and I’m really glad I did because it’s a memory that has well-served its purpose."-said Luke.
One year after her son's wedding, Rebekah Rheault had to say a forever goodbye to her son and daughter-in-law, but they surely remembered her by her smile on that wedding.
