Street Cat Followed Man Every Night, Begging For Adoption
“If you see a friendly cat outside every day... you might be the person they’ve been waiting for,” – this is what Flatbush Cats’ founder Will Zweigart said when telling us the story of Mila, one of the sweetest feral cats he has met in the streets of Brooklyn, New York.

Will and his volunteers stumbled upon this charming girl while doing a TNR (trap – neuter – return) project in their neighborhood. It wasn’t hard for them to notice that Mila was lactating, which meant they had to get her spayed real quick and release her back outside within 24 hours so she could be able to keep on taking care of her kittens.
Unlike many other feral cats, Mila was adorably friendly. Every night, when Will came back to check on her and her kittens, she always warmly welcomed the man. The loving kitty even followed him when he left as if begging him to take her home, but unfortunately Will and his volunteers had no space available for another adult cat as they were too busy helping many kittens at that moment – including Mila’s babies.

However, after Will shared a video of the endearing Mila hanging out on trash cans saying hi to everyone that walked by on social media, that lovely kitty immediately gained herself a big fan nearby who couldn’t wait to foster her.

Only a few hours later, Mila already settled in her new home and she just couldn’t be any happier now that she’s warm and safe.
Needless to say, the amiable girl didn’t forget to express her gratitude toward her rescuers whenever she could.

“It’s such a special feeling when the cats know that you’re helping them,” Will said.
With the help of their rescuers, the brave mom and her kids later all found a loving home of their own. Mila even had a ginger big bro whom she was very fond of. Isn’t it great?
