Rocket Raccoon has appeared in two Marvel Cinematic Universe films: Guardians of the Galaxy and Avengers: Infinity War. He is voiced by Bradley Cooper and his character was created for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 by writer-director James Gunn who also wrote its screenplay.
In Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, he has become a new, smaller cybernetic leg to replace the one lost in the first film. At some point after being rescued from Yondu's ship by Star-Lord, Rocket stole Xandar's space cruiser which contained all their weaponry including its star-ship guns. After hearing that Thanos' ship had been destroyed by Gamora, he decided not to join them on their mission due to his desire not to want anyone else risking their lives while they were away from home.

In fact, he realized how dangerous it would be if everyone wasn't fighting together. Therefore, he decided that since there weren't many options left then maybe if possible we could just get rid of him before whatever comes next.
