If you're a cat lover, Scott Metzger's comics are a must-see for you. Cartoonist Scott Metzger gets inspiration from the two cats he owns – Hannah and Max and has been drawing comics about their daily lives for over 20 years. The artist shares with the audience: "Both are rescue cats. Hannah is part Siamese and part Calico. She’s sweet and friendly, but she clearly prefers my wife and 10-year-old daughter. Max is a tuxedo cat and he loves people – he loves everybody. He’ll sit on any available lap,” Perhaps, Scott loves his two cats so much that he nailed the portrayal of their ridiculous and very human-like behavior in his artwork.
In the comics, cats are like humans but still have silly and annoying actions that make them so funny. Not only do cat lovers like Scott's work, but other people like it too. Of course, his cartoons are floating around social media and spread laughter to many cat lovers all around the world. Maybe, the artist will be happy because he enjoys giving people a chuckle. "It's a great feeling when a comic connects with people or if someone says they laughed out loud at a silly cat cartoon," he added. “It’s great when someone says something like ‘that’s just like my cat!’ It’s nice to connect with a reader in that way.”
Reading Scott Metzger's comics, we all have to admit that he is a talented and hard-working artist. He imagines cats' conversations and turns them into hilarious and beautiful drawings. In the early days when the artist learned Adobe Illustrator, his sketches were pretty rough. However, over the years, he improved his drawing style, and it changed a bit.
