10 Times Actors Hated Playing A Character But Still Nailed It

We all make mistakes or make decisions we're not proud of at least once in our lives. Whether it’s work-related or personal, at least our regrets aren't shown on huge screens for everyone to see. Unfortunately for these actors, theirs are. These following celebs have admitted to hating some of their most iconic roles. From Robert Pattinson in Twilight to Kate Winslet in Titanic, these actors still wish they could travel back in time and take it all back. It's hard to believe, right?
So why would they hate a role that gave them a career after all? A few of the many reasons can be: they dislike being typecast, they hate it when people assume they are precisely like their characters, and sometimes it has to do with the decisions the characters make. #1 Robert Pattinson as Edward Cullen

Robert Pattinson was a cast member of the famous Twilight film series. "There's nothing you can do about it", he remarked, despite his fame as Edward Cullen. "That’s the way it is. But it is weird being part of that, kind of representing something you don’t particularly like.” It was also claimed that he would have hated the series if he hadn't been chosen for the role.

#2 Viola Davis as Aibileen Clark

In "The Help", Viola Davis portrayed Aibileen Clark. “Have I ever done roles that I’ve regretted? I have, and The Help is on that list. I just felt that at the end of the day it wasn’t the voices of the maids that were heard. I know Aibileen. I know Minny. They’re my grandma. They’re my mom.” she said.

#3 Idris Elba as Stringer Bell

The role of Stringer Bell in The Wire was given to Idris Elba. But he later regretted portraying this role, admitting, “We’re all idolizing Stringer Bell, but who are we really idolizing? Is it okay to pump a community but because you’re smart at it that makes you cool?”

#4 Daniel Craig as James Bond

James Bond was portrayed by Daniel Craig in four further films from the series as well as the short film for the 2012 Olympic Games. Actually, he didn’t want to play the role again and  reportedly stated, “I’m over it at the moment. We’re done. All I want to do is move on. I’m not in discussion with anybody about anything. If I did another Bond movie, it would only be for the money.”

#5 Jessica Alba as Susan Storm

Jessica Alba portrayed Susan Storm in the Fantastic Four. She said, “Good actors never use the script unless it’s amazing writing. All the good actors I’ve worked with, they all say whatever they want to say.”  She continued, "what I was doing is useless," about how poorly the movie's script was written, before announcing, "I don't care about this business anymore."

#6 Megan Fox as Mikaela Banes

Megan Fox portrays Mikaela Banes in the film Transformers. Although the director let her go, she didn't want to participate in the movie at first. She claimed that working for directors who are tyrants and a nightmare to work for makes it difficult and that it would be better if she pursued other projects.

#7 Halle Berry as Catwoman

Contributing to the "success" of the film Catwoman —Halle Berry even won a Razzie—and despite the fact that she received praise for her portrayal of Catwoman, she didn't like the experience. She expressed her dissatisfaction with the script and her opinion that the production could have been set up better and the plot, more developed.

#8 Kate Winslet as Rose DeWitt Bukater

The character Rose DeWitt Bukater was portrayed by Kate Winslet in the iconic movie Titanic. She reportedly disliked watching the movie and wished every moment could be changed. She said, “I’m like, ’Ugh, really? Really? You did it like that?’ And even my American accent, I look at it and I’m like, ’Ugh, I can’t even listen to myself.’ It’s awful, hopefully, it’s so much better now.”

#9 Harrison Ford as Rick Deckard

Rick Deckard was portrayed by Harrison Ford in "Blade Runner". But he has problems with the role that was handed to him, as he stated, “I played a detective who did not have any detecting to do. In terms of how I related to the material, I found it very difficult. There was stuff that was going on that was really nuts.”

#10 Katherine Heigl as Alison Scott

Alison Scott appeared as Katherine Heigl in the film Knocked Up. She claimed that if the roles had been allocated fairly in terms of attitude, character, and script, the film would not have been as bad. She hated her part. She had a wonderful experience, but she found it difficult to accept the movie.
