In order to portray a character convincingly, actors are willing to undergo a variety of things, like intense training, changing their weight by either decreasing or growing it, and so on. The following evidence demonstrates that for many performers to get to the point where they can walk the red carpet, they must put in a lot of hard work.

The role of Brienne was so important to Gwendoline Christie that she trained for six weeks in kickboxing, yoga, and a complete diet overhaul in preparation for the audition. Consequently, she shed 20 pounds. As she prepared for the job, her training regimen ramped up. The loss of her gorgeous hair was, however, the most devastating thing for the actress. As soon as she saw herself in the mirror with short hair, she began sobbing and didn't stop for two hours.

Charlize Theron put on about 48 pounds for her part as a mother of three in Tully. She also put on weight for the role of a monster in 2003's Monster, gaining 30 pounds. Theron, however, had to face unfavorable outcomes this time around.
The actress had been depressed for the first time because of her diet's unhealthy food and sweets. Second, she understood that it would be more difficult to shed pounds at 42 than at 27. Since she hadn't slept well, she was feeling weak and sluggish and had trouble keeping up with her treadmill routine. It took her one and a half years of dedicated exercise and proper eating to get back into her pre-baby body.

To prepare for his role as the iconic singer and pianist Ray Charles in the biopic Ray, Jamie Foxx met with Charles. Since the actor is also a pianist, the musician had no trouble accepting him. Foxx shed 30 pounds and used his comic training to perfect his impression of Charles's mannerisms.
However, acting blind was the most challenging role for the actor. The director advised Foxx to "become blind" for a scene. The actor had to have his eyelids cemented together for 14 hours daily. Foxx panicked and felt claustrophobic at first but eventually grew accustomed to it and won an Oscar for his performance.

So, the actor would don a suit and add anywhere from fifty to three hundred pounds for the film. Because of how taxing it was, he often felt lightheaded after taking off the suit. For him to be able to wear the suit, he had to build up muscles he was previously unaware of, he said.

The actress suffered sores on her legs and threw up on day one. She had been warned that she didn't need to put in as much effort as the men, but she taped the blisters and pushed through anyway. One of those days, Demi Moore shaved her head to complete the new look.

In Baywatch, the actor had to go through an extremely dangerous process to portray a muscular physique with prominent veins. He'd get up at the ungodly hour of 4:00 a.m. to start his training and work out for hours. All he ate was lean meat and greens. Zac Efron's mental and physical health suffered as a result of this. If he had to choose between suffering and having a little extra fat, he would take the fat any day.

Jake Gyllenhaal and Josh Brolin wanted to know what it would be like, so they used a simulator to simulate the situation.
