10 Key Footballers Who Might Not Participate In World Cup 2022 Due To Injuries

"The midfielder visited a specialist with the club's medical department to explore the options for his rehabilitation approach, and it was mutually agreed for N'Golo to have surgery to repair the damage. Following a successful operation, N'Golo is now expected to be sidelined for four months," the medical division said.

The Chelsea star has had a string of ailments in recent months. In the intense Champions League encounter against AC Milan, he sustained an injury that would keep him out past the World Cup. Since all of England's right-backs are injured, they are at a disadvantage. He stated in an interview, "I will try and not rule myself out. It is still slow and in the early stages. I have been in rehab for two weeks, so I am still taking it day by day. The Chelsea medical staff have not given me a percentage of my chance of being back for the World Cup. It is down to how I feel closer to the time and how stable it is... I am trying to be positive. I am not sure how long this injury will take. I am not in pain. But if I try to speed it up, it might be a bit of a risk. I am trying hard every day to improve and make it right."

The former France and Manchester United player had a string of misfortunes after getting hurt against Chelsea in a Premier League game. The five-time Champions League champion was consoled by his teammates as he left the pitch in tears after suffering the harm. His manager, Erik Ten Hag, had the following to say: "He will be out, certainly until the World Cup so he will not play in this block for Manchester United. I think [he can play at the World Cup] but the prognosis we have to wait."

"Alex has been having a couple of injections into his thigh. I believe that's gone well, and the medical team are happy where he currently stands. But it's a longer-term injury, a five or six-week injury, as I've said before, he won't be back before the World Cup break."

#10 Richarlison (Brazil) - Calf injury
