7 Celebrities Who Gave A Sh*t About 'Hollywood Walk Of Fame'

More than 2,600 names of famous personalities from the Entertainment industry are inscribed on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Many famous persons would be flattered to receive such an award, but the public might be startled to learn that some have politely declined.
Celebrities must pay a hefty $40,000 to have their names listed among so many others in the galaxy. The funds are allocated to the construction of the star and the upkeep of the walkway. The large sums requested may put off some famous people, but there are usually other reasons why they can't comply. Below are some well-known people who ignore Hollywood's Walk of Fame.

1. Madonna

In 1990, Madonna was the top-selling female pop artist on the verge of superstardom. As expected, given her status as a trailblazing creative force, she has been contacted with the offer of a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. That said, she simply wasn't curious. There is no record of the singer discussing the possibility of another offer to increase her star status, assuming she even considered it. While this may be true, Madonna has been a member of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame since 2008.

2. George Clooney

Fans of George Clooney are often taken aback to learn that he does not have a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The actor was nominated long ago, perhaps even more than once, but he never bothered to celebrate the honor. As many may believe, the actor is not the only well-known face who has made it difficult for the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce to make this happen.

3. Al Pacino

Despite being nominated for inclusion in the Walk of Fame, not all actors have attended the ceremony. Al Pacino, maybe the most famous actor of all time, is a prime example. A star bearing his name would be appropriate, but he was too busy to set one up. It's not just Al Pacino, either; other famous people have done it, too. Other A-listers who didn't bother to set a date for the ceremony include Denzel Washington and George Clooney.

4. Muhammad Ali

A star bearing Muhammad Ali's name stands above the floor. In contrast to the other famous people, his name is displayed on a wall outside the Dolby Theatre. The boxer "did not want the name of Muhammad to be trodden on," according to a producer involved in the Walk of Fame ceremonies. The boxer is one of the few nominees not associated with the entertainment industry.

5. Whitney Houston

Many people probably don't realize this, but Whitney Houston isn't honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, even though she is one of the best vocalists of all time. One can see why Houston turned down the nomination: she didn't want anyone to steal the spotlight from her. Her reasons for saying no also get individuals to ponder their own points of view. The singer saw it as more of a slight than an honor.

6. Prince

After Prince died in 2016, many people only now began to wonder why he wasn't honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. After his passing, several mourners made a makeshift star in his honor, and photos of it quickly went viral. When Prince was nominated for a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1999, he politely declined the honor, saying he "wasn't ready." Maybe five years after his death, he will get his star.

7. John Denver

In 1982, John Denver was one of the many musicians considered for a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. While his representative reportedly spent $3,000 on the ceremony, the artist himself never made plans to have it performed. As we've already established, this practice appears to be widespread among celebrities; many just don't announce a specific date for the nuptials.
