6 Wildest Reasons Celebrities Were In FBI Files

To most people, the words "Federal Bureau of Investigations" or "FBI" conjure up images of covert operations, spies, and assassins like "James Bond" or "Jason Bourne" from the latest spy film. The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is responsible for protecting American soil. It also has a substantial international presence, with over sixty offices in US embassies and consulates worldwide.
If the FBI looks into a person, it's probably because they pose a serious threat to the country. However, not everybody with a file with the FBI has broken the law. Several people have substantial files in the FBI's database due to their involvement with assisting the agency. Whatever the case, this list of celebrities with FBI files shows that no one is immune to the law.

A background check was performed on him when he was being considered for a seat on then-President George Bush, SrExport .'s Council; the report, now declassified, is 200 pages long. The file reveals that Jobs experimented with drugs like marijuana and LSD while he was a college student, and many of the people interviewed about him had negative things to say.
Many doubt his honesty, claiming that "he possesses integrity as long as he gets his way." Despite his obvious intelligence, the study states that his will to succeed "alienated many people at Apple Computer, Inc."

2. Whitney Houston

Her marriage to R&B artist Bobby Brown and subsequent divorce were front-page news for a long time, partly because of Brown's legal troubles. There was widespread speculation that they were drug users, devastatingly impacting Houston's career.
The FBI report, however, detailed their investigation into other incidents, such as threatening letters sent to Houston by an obsessed fan, cassette tapes from the Netherlands, and a purported $250,000 extortion attempt by a friend who threatened to reveal very private details about Houston's failed marriage to Brown.

3. Marilyn Monroe

Marilyn Monroe had an FBI file due to her association with extremist politicians. It may surprise you that her files had nothing to do with the two men she was most famously related to, the late former President John F. Kennedy and his brother, Robert Kennedy, who reportedly had affairs with. Her 1940s communist third husband, the playwright Arthur Miller, was important in her report.
Monroe was also monitored for her friendship with socialist political leader Frederick Vanderbilt Field. The file mentions her unusual demise, with conspiracy theories on whether it was accidental or foul play.

4. John Lennon

The FBI attempted to cancel Lennon's US visa so he might be deported in the 1970s when he first garnered notoriety for his outspoken criticism of the regime of then-US President Richard Nixon. The FBI allegedly kept a close eye on Lennon because of Nixon's paranoia that the Beatle's appeal among young people would derail his reelection bid.
Although the FBI acknowledged having 281 pages of files on Lennon years after his death, they refused to release most of the records because they contained sensitive national security material. About 25 years after Lennon's death, all but ten disputed documents were made public.

5. Michael Jackson

His death was a shock to the world, and millions of people have expressed their sorrow at the loss of the legendary musician who brought us "Thriller," "Beat It," "Billy Jean," "Black or White," and "Man in the Mirror," among many more songs. However, he gained widespread attention in 1993 and 2004 when he was accused of child molestation and had to stand trial. Both times, the FBI assisted the local courts that brought the charges.
According to the FBI report, the agency attempted to persuade Jordan Chandler, the accuser in the 1993 case, to testify against Michael Jackson in 2004. However, Chandler declined and settled his lawsuit with Jackson for $15 million outside of court.

Notorious B.I.G. and the record label Bad Boy Records were among the East Coast hip-hop figures he feuded with, and he was an outspoken player in the rivalry between the two coasts. The FBI kept a separate dossier on Shakur due to his role in this feud; this file included information about death threats he reportedly received from a domestic terrorist cell.
Documents suggest the gang was extorting cash from rappers by claiming they could defend them from adversaries to get them killed. No one has ever been able to say who shot and killed Shakur in September 1996.
