The 7 Saddest Disney Moments Of The 2010s

Disney movies are always good at implying hidden messages and bringing us cry-inducing moments in each movie. Even as an adult, while you may not sob quite as hard as you did when Bambi lost his mother or when Simba nuzzled a lifeless Mufasa, the past decade of Disney films still certainly had no shortage of emotionally devastating moments.
Indeed, they are truly famous for their poignant stories that often lead to unforgettable tear-jerking scenes. From Andy's tearful goodbye in Toy Story 3 to Bing Bong's fading farewell in Inside Out, below are the saddest Disney moments of the decade. These Disney movies are actually the perfect choice for a tearful viewing experience. Let’s scroll down and check them out!

#1 Woody Says Goodbye ('Toy Story 4')

In Toy Story 4, Woody once again plays the role of the hero of his friend's toys. When Bonnie's new favorite toy, Forky, runs away, Woody sets out to find him. Along the way, Woody stumbles across Bo Peep, who is now a full-time adventurer who helps lost toys find their owners. At the end of the film, Woody has to make a decision - will he stay with Bo, the love of his life? Or will he go back to Bonnie and the rest of his friends?
At first, it seems that Woody's loyalty lies where it has always been - to his child. However, after some encouragement from Buzz, Woody decided to stay with Bo. He said goodbye to all his friends and handed his Sheriff badge to Jessie. As the toy drives away, Buzz whispers "to infinity" and Woody replies with an emotional "and more."
While Toy Story 3 tells the goodbye between toys and Andy, Toy Story 4 focuses on another emotional farewell. This moment ends a long timeline of Woody's adventures with his friends and his commitment to his child. It rips apart our favorite partners and creates (seems like) the ultimate ending to a great story. Most importantly, it allowed Woody to follow his own dreams. He's been there for a long time because of first Andy, and then Bonnie. Now, he has his own happiness forever with the toy of his dreams. Suffice it to say that the whole moment was very emotional.

#2 Tony Stands Violet Up ('Incredibles 2')

Incredibles 2 is filled with fun, happy moments. However, there is a ray of sadness in this film. However, at the beginning of Incredibles 2, Tony sees Violet without her mask. She tells her father about her slip, who then tells Agent Dicker, who erased Tony's memory. Unfortunately, he went too far and erased Violet from Tony's mind entirely. Unaware of Tony's amnesia, Violet is ready for her date, clearly excited to spend time with her lover. Sadly, he never showed up. Frustrated and embarrassed, Violet burst into the kitchen in invisible mode, grabbed a bucket of ice cream and a large spoon, and went to her room, crying all the way.

#3 Bing Bong Fades Away ('Inside Out’)

Released in 2015, Inside Out is the story of a girl named Riley and her conflicting emotions inside as she goes through a series of complex changes in her life. Emotions Joy and Sadness end up getting stuck in Riley's long-term memory while trying to stabilize her emotions. There, they run into Bing Bong, Riley's old imaginary friend. Through various mishaps, Joy and Bing Bong will eventually lie at the bottom of the memory dump, where they will eventually be forgotten forever. They use Bing Bong's rocket ship to escape, but they quickly realize that they are too heavy for the rocket to carry them both to the top of the cliff. Cue a tearful scene.
In a last-ditch effort, Bing Bong propelled the rocket ship with Joy, giving it plenty of impetus to cross the top of the abyss. As Joy took off, Bing Bong jumped from behind, allowing Joy to escape while he let himself be forgotten. Throughout the movie, it's hard for him to accept that Riley is bigger than he is. However, through this sacrifice, he shows that he is ready to accept his fate, especially if it will help Joy. Bing Bong knows that Joy can save Riley, and he loves Riley more than he loves himself. He gives up everything to make her happy again, even if he'll never see it.

The Good Dinosaur follows a particularly terrifying Apatosaurus named Arlo. Arlo is desperate to help his family with the housework, but fear has kept him from being an effective worker. He tries to trap a human child who is stealing his family's corn, but he becomes afraid of the little guy and lets him go. Arlo's father, Henry, is enraged at the boy's escape and he begins to search for him with Arlo in tow.
While searching for the boy, Arlo and Henry are hit by a landslide that causes the river to overflow. Henry pushes Arlo to safety, but in the process, he has swept away, leaving his son and the rest of the family to cope on their own.

Who doesn't shed a tear during Toy Story 3's emotional ending? The movie follows our favorite group of toys as they deal with Andy's upcoming transfer to college. While the toys struggled to accept the fact that their child was grown and didn't need them anymore, Andy himself struggled to put his childhood behind him. Though he's tempted to leave his toys in the attic, where they won't be played with for years, an intervention from Woody prompts Andy to give his toys to a new child, Bonnie.
Andy introduces each of his toys to Bonnie, explaining why they mean so much to him. Andy then decides to leave each of his beloved toys, including Woody, with Bonnie. Before driving away, he played with the toy one last time. The scene is particularly heartbreaking for younger audiences, who have seen the original Toy Story movies and are now stepping out into the world on their own.

There he meets his ancestors and discovers that he must return to the Land of the Living before sunrise, or he will be trapped there forever. The one who could bring him back to the Land of Life, his great-grandmother, Imelda, refuses to do so unless he gives up music. She believes her husband abandoned her long ago to pursue a career in music and she doesn't want anyone in the family to follow in his footsteps.
Miguel refuses her offer and begins to find another route to return to the Land of the Living. Through a series of events, he finds his great-grandfather, Hector, and takes down the man who prevented Hector from returning to his family all these years ago. While the ending seems happy, Miguel's great-grandmother - Coco - is the only living person who remembers Hector. He's in danger of being forgotten, so Imelda sends Miguel back to the Land of the Living on a mission to help Coco remember her father. Upon returning home, Miguel played a song for Coco that Hector had written for her during her childhood. She immediately remembered her father, establishing the family history once and for all.
