10 Embarrassing Movie Scenes That Actors Want To Erase From Their Memories

Remember the bathroom mishap in There’s Something About Mary, the best friend off in Bridesmaids, or The projectile vomiting scene in I Love You, Man? The cinema world is full of movies that contain embarrassing scenes. We never thought we’d feel sorry for any celebs but after watching these moments, the feeling gets close to us. 

Actors have certain movie scenes that they’d rather forget forever. Some scenes make them extremely exhausted both physically and mentally, some feature them as a fool man or a silly woman. When recalling these experiences, actors do nothing but laugh at themselves in embarrassment. When asked if they would agree to act on these scenes again or not, all answers are NO.

#1. Reese Witherspoon and Robert Pattinson — Water for Elephants

For Reese Witherspoon, the kiss scene with the Twilight star was considered to be disgusting. Robert Pattinson had a very runny rose and it was terrible. It was difficult for the actor during the shooting. 

He said, “I was doing it when I had a really bad cold. My nose is running all over the place, and it was in one of the additional photography scenes, and Reese had this wig on, and literally, I was wiping my nose on her wig.”

#2. Jessica Alba — Fantastic Four 2: Rise of the Silver Surfer

For the actress, the experience of staring in the second part of Fantastic Four was a true blow to her career. She played a superheroine, Susan Storm, a useless character. 

The actress was trying to look natural when shooting a crying scene, but the director criticized her and said, “It looks too real. It looks too painful. Can you be prettier when you cry?” After all, the director asked Alba to not do anything with her face. “Don’t do that thing with your face. Just make it flat. We can CGI the tears in.”

#3. Alfie Allen — Game of Thrones

The episode titled, “Unbowed, Unbent, Unbroken” was seen as the worst episode in the entire the series. Even actor Alfie Allen who portrayed Theon Greyjoy agreed it and said that the wedding night of Sansa Stark and Ramsay Bolton became the worst scene for him to shoot. The sad Bolton ordered Theon stay in the room and watch Stark’s humiliation.

It was much painful that Allen refused to discuss it for a long time. he said, “I don’t really want to talk about it all that much, but the Season 5 scene that was the wedding night between Ramsay and Sansa was a horrible day to shoot. Sophie Turner is just such a mature, amazing lady that brings life and light onto the set in so many ways but it was a hard day. It really was a horrible day but Sophie really dealt with that issue very, very well.”

#4. Bryan Cranston — Breaking Bad

When recalling the scene where his character, Walter White sees his student Jesse’s dying girlfriend, Bryan Cranston busted in tears. In the scene, White just sits there and watches the woman die without trying to help. 

The actor explained, ““My character first wanted to respond in a humane way: a person was choking to death, so to stop it, the impulse was to help. And then he stops himself because he realizes this is the same person who was just blackmailing him and threatening to expose his whole enterprise and everyone’s life would be turned upside down. But then I look at her again and I said, ’She’s just a girl — she could be my daughter.”

#5. Nicole Kidman — Big Little Lies

In the TV series Big Little Lies, Nicole Kidman played Celeste, who suffered from an abusive husband to save her marriage. The actress clenched her fists when watching the scene where a beaten and shivering Celeste lies at the feet of her despot husband. 

She said, “I remember lying on the floor in the last episode, being in my underwear and having just been really thrown around. I just laid on the floor. I couldn’t get up. I didn’t want to get up,”. After the shoot, she was depressed. The actress busted her fury, picking up a stone from the ground and breaking the window of her hotel room. 

After doing that, she totally regretted it.

#6. Martin Sheen — Apocalypse Now

In the first scene of the movie, when being drunk and exhausted, Captain Willard messed up his hotel room, scattering everything around him, breaking the mirror, and torturing himself until his body bleeds. However, many might not know that the actor was actually drunk at that time. 

When returning to this room the next day, he was horrified. He was shocked by everything he did. So, he refused to rewatch this scene.

#7. Jennifer Lawrence — Passengers

For filming Passengers, Jennifer Lawrence was demanded to get naked on camera. It made her stressed when it was the first time she did and her married co-star Chris Pratt added to the situation. 

After shooting the scene, the actress never stopped feeling worried, “What have I done? I don’t know. And he was married. And it was going to be my first time kissing a married man, and guilt is the worst feeling in your stomach. And I knew it was my job, but I couldn’t tell my stomach that. So I called my mom, and I was like, ’Will you just tell me it’s OK?’ That was the most vulnerable I’ve ever been.”

#8. Arnold Schwarzenegger — Hercules in New York

For the actor, his experience in the movie Hercules in New York was disastrous. He said that it was a movie with a low budget and he was embarrassed by it. 

When fighting with a fake bear, he felt so awkward. He shared, “In one scene it’s me wrestling a bear and you could tell the bear in Central Park was not a bear, it was a guy with this coat thrown over him. It was ridiculous,”

#9. Hugh Jackman — Movie 43

After his big success in Les Misérables, Hugh Jackman starred in Movie 43, which turned out to be an absurd comedy riddled with black humor. The film was not funny as expected. The actor even posted a message to himself from the future on the internet where he warns himself against starring in Movie 43.

The scene where Kate Winslet’s character, Beth, has a blind date with his character, Davis, who appears to have a “ball-neck”. The movie got terrible reviews from critics and film buffs, and most of actors didn’t show up to the premiere.

#10. Leonardo DiCaprio and Tobey Maguire — Don’s Plum

Leonardo DiCaprio and Tobey Maguire felt ashamed during filming Don’s Plum. The characters in the movie exchange vulgar jokes, laugh at each other, pick their noses, and give emotional monologues in the bathroom mirror for 86 long minutes.

They believed that the movie didn’t show them in a good light so they decided to take over and sue the producers, asking to ban the movie in the US and Canada.
