10 Actors Who's The Perfect Candidates To Be The Next James Bond

James Bond, also known as 007, is originally a fictional character created by Ian Fleming and has been brought to the big screen since 1962. For the next 60 years, 27 James Bond titles about the charming and intelligent secret agent have been released, with the protagonists played by different actors, such as Sean Connery, Pierce Brosnan, Daniel Craig... The series was widely known across the world, and won 6 Academy Awards, with a combined gross of 7.8 million to date.
After the most recent entry No Time To Die in September 2021, Daniel Craig finally stepped down from his role as the agent. Since then, the discussion about which actors are capable of filling Craig's shoes to portray one of the most iconic spies in the world has been a talking point for months. Some actors have been linked to the role, but there is no confirmation by Eon Production yet. So while we wait for further news, let's browse through these 10 actors who'd be the most befitting candidate to play the notorious James Bond in the future.

The audience would love to see Cavill making a complete transition from the stoic Geralt of Rivia to a classy womanizing gentleman of James Bond. The actor was also linked to playing the 007 roles for a while now, while other sources revealed that he'll be the new entry's villain.

#2 Tom Hiddlestone

A polite and classy gentleman in real life, Tom Hiddleston was also rumored by the press as one of the candidates to portray James Bond. The actor has once expressed his desire to play the role as well, so we might have some hope for this one.

#3 Tom Hardy

After Hiddlestone, we've got another Tom on the list. Many would claim that Hardy's somewhat unkempt outlook doesn't fit to play Bond, but his acting skills say otherwise. The man never confirms or denies any rumors sent his way though, so we'll keep our eyes open.

#4 Colin Firth

Colin Firth might have aged a little, but his gentleman-like charisma is still there. Firth is no stranger to portraying a secret agent as well, so why not put him on the list?

#5 Taron Egerton

Many would say Egerton is a bit too young to represent such an experienced officer, but sometimes age is just a number. Having worked with Colin Firth in the Kingsman franchise, the 33-year-old knows how to immerse himself as a top-secret agent, and he can bring something new and fresh to the franchise.

#6 Aaron Taylor-Johnson

Like Egerton, Taylor-Johnson is still young, but he's already a good candidate to fill in Craig's shoes. His acting skills have been improving constantly through the last couple of years, and his gorgeous outlook is perfect to play the womanizer role.

#7 Idris Elba

The first black James Bond ever? Why not! And if this comes true, then Idris Elba would be the first man on the list. There are some rumors about Elba playing Bond in the future, but the actor himself has recently put them to rest. This is a shame because Elba would be a perfect fit for the role, in everyone's opinion.

#8 Regé-Jean Page

Page's reputation has risen rapidly since his role in the popular Bridgerton series. He has the outlook of a ladies' man: a near-perfect face, a hunky voice, and his acting skills to add to his repertoire. The actor has also addressed these rumors himself, saying representing James Bond would be "a merit badge" for British actors.

#9 Christian Bale

Actually, Christian Bale was offered the role long ago, after Pierce Brosnan stepped down, but the Batman star rejected it. We sure hope he'd reconsider it in the future though because Bale playing Bond would be a dream come true for everyone.

#10 Michael Fassbender

Fassbender was one of the favorites to portray the legendary agents, tho he has turned down the rumors when asked by the press, as he thought a younger actor would do the job better. Oh, what could have been?
